Don’t think I’ve posted this one here yet?

メシ食うな
Stop Eating!
Text by Kou Machida
Translation by Klara

Erase my entire existence
Negate my entire existence
And that of those fucking daft bourgeois kids
Because they beat me up
In town, colourful blooms in hand
National railway passengers wear the look of poverty
A sea of people; humanity

You all fucking stuff your faces because you just can’t take it anymore
Inside that void you call ‘self’
Stop eating!

ハンバーガー
Hamburger
Text by Kou Machida
Translation by Klara

A world gone mad surrounded by carrion
Indulges in your warmth
Thanks to their gluttony for hamburgers
Mindless little shits are rolling along
A cheap domestic bliss available to anyone
And since there’s no more cheap alcohol now
Since nothing can be done about it now, hamburger!

Peanuts, cheese, butter, beans, milk and toast
Hamburger!

Into The Dream
Text by Kou Machida
Translation: Klara

I want to draw you into a dream
So listen to this song of mine, it’ll shield your wounds from reality’s open air
And draw you all, into a dream
At the party night all were entranced
At the party night they all grew bored
On a party night in a small town
All were entranced by the small town rock band’s performance, then they grew bored
I want to draw you into a dream
So listen to this song of mine, it’ll shield your wounds from reality’s open air
And draw you all, into a dream

もうだめだ
So Hopeless Now (1)
Text by Kou Machida
Translation by Klara

This is it, I’m hopeless now
Happy hour is drawing to a close now
That’s it for the karaoke hour, and the live band
And the all you can drink whiskey too
Therefore
I’ll buy those wilted flowers which remained unsold
Climb into a taxi; so, where should I go?
For now why don’t I ever so slowly
Head West to Amida?

“Hey driver, that flower girl we just passed”
“She was kind of cute, don’t you think?”

The driver is a really cool guy
Follows the speed limit as the car heads towards the sea

“Hey driver, just how far are you going to go?”
I desperately want to ask him, but I don’t know the reason for it anymore
But what’s this attitude coming from you now?
I know we’re nearing the Promised Land
So tell me how you find it once you’ve gotten a sense of the place
But for me
It’s hopeless now
I unintentionally hit the driver with a hammer
It is too late, though I regret it
It’s hopeless now
So much blood poured from the poor guy
Which type were you?
I’m sorry, I’m going to leave the flowers here

It’s a high way to the sea in the setting sun
A fiery low way for the soul
What a hopeless scene
What a hopeless panorama
This is it, I’m hopeless, I’m so hopeless now
This is it, I’m hopeless, I’m so hopeless now
This is my best, it is my worst, my best and my worst (2)
It’s best I waste away now, it’s for the best that it’s all over now
It is for the best now, it is for the best now
I’m so hopeless now
I’ve made a mess of this life, and light, life and light, and love
This is it, I’m hopeless, I’m so hopeless now
This is it, I’m hopeless, I’m so hopeless now
This is my worst, it is my best, this is my best, it’s all over, it’s hopeless now
This is my best, it is my best, I’m so
Hopeless now

Notes:
1. ‘Mou dame da’ is such a versatile expression. I’ve chosen to translate it as ‘hopeless’ for the most part, but there are many other possibilities depending on context and tone. Just to give a few examples: I’ve had it, this is it, I’m done for, I give up, etc.
2. I can’t make up my mind about this line. It’s just purposefully vague enough that more than one version seems to fit. I’ve debated having it as ‘this is the best, it is the worst’, or even ‘it’s best, it’s worst’. Or any combination thereof.

昔の話ばっかりしてる奴
He Only Ever Talks Of The Old Days
Text by Kou Machida
Translation by Klara

Shall I tell you about the old times? I was a star back in the day
Shall I tell you about the old times? I rocked back in the day

Lovers are still asleep, let me tell you about the old times

A star I was, a star

Even famous rock stars were my fans, back in the day
I was called charismatic, I appeared weekly in magazines

Let me tell you about how I sang in live houses back in the day
I really did, in the flashing lights

A star I was, a star

How many years have passed since then?
How many years have passed?
No one remembers you anymore
No one remembers

I’m an old man now, so let me tell you about the old times
Heaven knows it’s the truth

I was a star and you, are a fool
I was a star and you, are a fool

305
Lyrics by Kou Machida
Translation by Klara

It’s a post-war household from which you have yet to be set free
And with all the events now happening in your home,
Should you want just a bit of hypocritical pleasure and peace, come to my place
You’ll find me anytime at 305

You’ll never escape
The unyielding principle behind your half-hearted routine
Should you want just a little love and whiskey, come to my place
It’s the rotting steps at 305

Do you have to keep on living there
Only because that’s where you were born 60 years ago,
In that house of yours?
Don’t you think you’d like to escape the curse of the departed?
Should you want just a bit of hypocritical pleasure and peace, come to my place
It’s the door dirtied with coal at 305
